The Corporate Manslaughter Act 2007 has come in to force and to ensure you can avoid corporate liability regular checks are essential. Just checking that they have a full and valid driving licence and the vehicle is taxed, insured and has an MOT is no longer enough.

This land mark ruling means company owners and fleet managers have a duty of care to their staff to ensure their staff are correctly trained. You will also find that your insurer encourage this and this should be reflected in the premiums you pay.

  • Carry out assessments of your employees driving
  • Carry out a check of their driving licence
  • Complete a written report
